GKN Freight Services finalists for Environmental Award
Following a highly competitive selection process, GKN Freight Services is proud to announce that it has been selected, by the International Freighting Weekly (IFW), as a finalist in the Environmental Award category in their annual award programme. The IFW awards are seen as the U.K. industry “Oscars”, attracting all major transport and logistics service providers.
Instrumental to GKN Freight Services’ selection was its long-standing and on-going commitment to
the environment. Supported by Network Europe and Network USA, GKN Freight Services has shown that a
“network approach” in handling cargo, is both beneficial to the customer and the environment.
Furthermore, actions undertaken within the organisation, such as journey avoidance, recycling and
training, convinced the jury of the Company’s total commitment to minimising the negative impact of
its activities on the environment.
Looking to the future, the current development of a transport CO2 model of Network Europe,
will further assist GKN Freight Services in helping its customers when making sourcing decisions.
